Weekend Schedule for NASCAR Xfinity and Cup races at Richmond Raceway

Triple Threat at Richmond Raceway: Two NASCAR Series to Compete in Busy Weekend

Two national NASCAR series are taking place at Richmond Raceway this weekend. The Xfinity teams will kick off their season on Saturday with a busy day of practice, qualifying, and racing on the .75-mile Virginia track. Cup teams will also be in action on Saturday, practicing and qualifying for Sunday’s primetime race.

In addition to these races, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams will be competing on Friday at Richmond. Last season, Chandler Smith won the Xfinity race at Richmond while Kyle Larson won the spring Cup race.

The weather for the weekend looks promising with mostly sunny skies and a high of 67 degrees on Friday, a cloudy day with a high of 71 degrees on Saturday, and a high of 70 degrees on Sunday with a 33% chance of rain at the start of the Cup race. Trackhouse Racing drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain will be looking to secure their second win of the season at Richmond.

On Friday, the garage opens at 9:30 am for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, followed by Xfinity Series activities from 12 pm to 5 pm and Cup Series activities from 4 pm to 9 pm. Track activities include Modified Tour practice, qualifying, and the Modified Tour race which consists of 150 laps totaling 112.5 miles.

On Saturday, the garage opens at 6:30 am for the Xfinity Series and at 8 am for the Cup Series. Track activities for the day include Xfinity practice and qualifying as well as Cup practice and qualifying. The Xfinity race featuring 250 laps totaling
