Global Health Diagnostics: Tackling Fragmented Supply Chains and Market Barriers at the 77th World Health Assembly

In the wake of a landmark resolution on healthcare diagnostics, experts from around the world will gather at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva to tackle some of the most pressing health challenges. Access to diagnostics remains a major issue in low- and middle-income countries due to fragmented supply chains and market barriers.

Threats like HIV, tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases, and antimicrobial resistance require accurate and rapid diagnostic tests for effective treatment and care. However, much of the information collected during these processes is not fully utilized, which hinders progress.

To address this issue, Foreign Policy and Cepheid will host an event on May 30th to discuss ways to leverage DNO insights for better pathogen detection, strengthening global health systems, achieving universal health coverage, and combating antimicrobial resistance. The event will take place from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM CET on May 30th, 2024. This event presents an opportunity for experts from various fields to come together and share their knowledge on how to improve healthcare diagnostics in order to enhance public health outcomes.
