Science, Slideshows, and Sensory Wonders: Tis the Season for Science at Cox Science Center and Aquarium

The annual event, ‘Tis the Season for Science, is happening from November 24th to January 7th, with daily activities taking place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium. During this time, visitors can enjoy various holiday-themed science shows such as “Let it Snow” Planetarium Shows and Laser Light Holiday Shows, as well as Frigid Science Demonstrations and Winter Wonder STEM activities.

Admission to the event costs $24 for adults, $20 for children, $22 for seniors, and is free for members. The Cox Science Center and Aquarium offers a wide range of hands-on educational exhibits, including a 10,000-gallon aquarium, digital planetarium, Discovery Center for Pre-K children, conservation-themed Mini-Golf Course, and an outdoor science trail. One of its most popular displays is the “Journey Through the Human Brain,” which showcases cutting-edge neuroscience research.

In addition to its educational exhibits and science shows, the Cox Amphitheater hosts daily live science shows, seasonal laser shows, and special event programming. Recently, the center received a $20 million gift from Palm Beachers Howard and Wendy Cox, leading to a name change and plans for a transformative capital expansion campaign. Construction is set to begin in late summer 2023 with a completion target of 2026.
