Rising Stars Olivia Maurais and Asher Michel Earn U.S. Representation at Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships
Olivia Maurais and Asher Michel, two talented skiers from the Winter Park Competition Center, have been selected to represent the Stifel U.S. Freestyle Ski Team and U.S. Ski & Snowboard at the Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships in Valmalenco, Italy. The prestigious event will take place from April 3-6 at the Chiesa Resort.
Michel has had an impressive career, with his second appearance at the championships being a testament to his skills on the slopes. In 2023, he won gold in team dual moguls and placed third in moguls, earning him a spot on the world stage once again.
This season has been no different for Michel as he earned gold in dual moguls at the NorAm Cup at Stratton Mountain Resort on March 2. He has continued to excel and is determined to make his mark on the international stage.
Maurais has also had a successful season, competing in multiple NorAm and World Cup events. She placed ninth in moguls at the U.S. Freestyle National Championships and fifth in moguls at the NorAm Cup at Deer Valley Resort.
