Bill Skarsgard seeks bloody revenge as ‘Boy Murders World’

Bill Skarsgård’s ‘Boy Kills World’: A Gory and Intense Exploration of Vengeance and Hope

In the world of “Boy Kills World,” a totalitarian regime ruled by the evil Van Der Koy family, Bill Skarsgård portrays the character of “Boy” – a deaf and voiceless orphan. Rescued by a mysterious shaman, Boy is trained to become a deadly assassin seeking vengeance for his family’s murder. Director Moritz Mohr aimed to create a film that he himself would enjoy watching, reminiscent of the movies he grew up with.

Throughout the film, Skarsgård’s performance relies heavily on expressions and body language, as he portrays the character of Boy. To prepare for the role, he underwent an impressive physical transformation, losing 20 pounds to build a lean and sinewy physique. Despite the lack of spoken dialogue from Skarsgård, the character’s inner voice is provided by H. Jon Benjamin, known for his work on “Bob’s Burgers.”

“Boy Kills World” is a gory and violent film, likened by Famke Janssen to a video game with hyper-realistic elements. Janssen and Brett Gelman, while acknowledging the film’s intense portrayal of a dark world, also reflect on the state of reality and the importance of keeping hope alive. The cast includes Bill Skarsgård, Jessica Rothe, Isaiah Mustafa, Andrew Koji, Yayan Ruhian, Famke Janssen, Michelle Dockery
