Plants in Space: Dr. Sarah Wyatt’s Presentation at the Final Science Café Event
Dr. Sarah Wyatt’s presentation at the final Science Café event of the spring semester on Wednesday, April 3 at 5 p.m. at The Front Room Coffeehouse in Baker University Center will be live-streamed on YouTube. As a professor in the Department of Environmental and Plant Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Wyatt specializes in studying molecular mechanisms of signaling in plant responses, focusing on how plants react to gravity.
The event is made possible by the support of the Ohio University Research Division and the Ohio University Chapter of Sigma Xi. In her presentation titled “Growing (Plants) Beyond Gravity,” Dr. Wyatt will discuss how gravity affects the positioning of leaves, stems, roots, flowers, seeds, and fruits. She will also showcase her research on the effects of gravity on plants with recent experiments conducted on the International Space Station.
Attendees can enjoy free coffee coupons while they learn about this fascinating topic. For more information about the Science Café series or to reserve your spot, please visit the website or contact Roxanne Malé-Brune at male-bru@ohio.edu.
