The latest advancements in school security technology were explored in a recent webcast, featuring two experts in the field. Guy Grace, K-12 National Security Program Manager at ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions, and Mike Newton, SLED Account Executive at Convergint, shared their expertise with attendees.
Guy has over 38 years of experience in security and served as director of security and emergency planning for Littleton Public Schools for over three decades. He was recognized as the 2020 K-12 Campus Safety Director of the Year and has received numerous other national and industry awards.
Mike Newton is also a seasoned expert in school security. As SLED Account Executive at Convergint, he focuses on the K-12 vertical in Colorado and previously worked as director of safety and security for Elizabeth School District. During his tenure at Elizabeth SD, he was responsible for all aspects of physical security, emergency management, threat assessment, emergency communication, and continuity of operations for the district. Mike was recognized as the K-12 Director of the Year Award from Campus Safety during his time there. Before working at Elizabeth SD, he served in both the U.S Air Force and the Colorado Air National Guard.
