Midco Sports Enhances Sports Coverage with New Partnerships and Streamed Content, Leaving Fargo Announcers in Limbo

Recently, Midco Sports, an internet and cable TV provider based in Sioux Falls, has announced plans to enhance their streamed content and form partnerships with universities to provide coverage on their linear channels, Midco Sports and Midco Sports Two. In order to achieve this goal, the company has laid off several employees, including on-air play-by-play announcers Brian Shawn and Jody Norstedt who are based in Fargo. However, the company stated that some of the employees who were laid off may have the opportunity to continue working with the company in a freelance capacity.

Midco Sports currently holds contracts for broadcasting University of North Dakota hockey, football, and men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as South Dakota State University, University of South Dakota athletics, and Augustana men’s hockey. These partnerships have allowed Midco Sports to provide coverage of a wide range of sporting events to their viewers. With the addition of new partnerships and enhanced streamed content, viewers can expect even more exciting sports coverage from Midco Sports in the future.
