Discovering the Wonders of Science: Meadow Montessori School Celebrates a Century-Old Tradition

In a celebration of learning, the Meadow Montessori School recently held its annual Science Fair. This year, 17 students from the school received ribbons for their outstanding projects. The event is unique in that it is the only school in the county to still host a school-wide science fair.

Director of admissions and advancement, as well as a secondary teacher at the school, Pietrina Guy spoke about the importance of continuing this tradition. She emphasized that it allows students to utilize the scientific method for critical thinking and share their work with others.

The fair was judged by four individuals: Sarah Howard, Cale Piedmonte-Lang, Stephanie Slat, and Frank Tryrbon. The judges awarded prizes to the top three students in each of five different age groupings.

Students who received ribbons included Zayn LaHart, Jaxton Thurwanger, and Luka Madrid from kindergarten; Calvin Cunningham, Lennon Beamsley, Teddy Felder, Cash Guy, and Maximus Humphreys from first and second grades; Jase Burbo, Etta Manley, and Madison Smith from third and fourth grades; David Schall, Henry Wolbert, and Landon Warshefski from fifth and sixth grades; and Jack Hopps-Zunk
