LinkedIn has recently announced that it is testing a new format of short videos in a style similar to TikTok. These videos will be displayed in the feed and will be grouped in a new tab on the main interface of the platform. Currently, LinkedIn has four main sections on its interface: ‘Home’, ‘My network’, ‘Messages’, ‘Jobs’ and ‘Notifications’, followed by the section for user account settings.
The job search platform is experimenting with a new feature that will showcase videos in a short format similar to TikTok. This feature will be available in the navigation bar with the addition of a ‘Video’ tab. Users will be able to access and view vertically formatted videos through scrolling. LinkedIn itself has confirmed the development of this feature, which is currently in the testing phase. The company has not shared specific details about how it selects videos to display in users’ feeds, but it acknowledges the rising popularity of videos among users as a preferred format for learning from professionals and experts.
