Retirement Celebration for Faculty and Staff of the College of Health Sciences on April 9th

Five Decades of Dedication: Honoring Boise State University’s Health Sciences Retirees

Boise State University’s College of Health Sciences is saying goodbye to five highly respected faculty and staff members who will be retiring in the spring of 2024. Sarah Toevs, Shelle Poole, Tim Kempf, Olgie Castillo, and Shawn Dunnagan have collectively dedicated decades of service to the university.

To honor their contributions, a retirement reception will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Student Union’s Bishop Barnwell Room. The entire campus community is invited to come together and celebrate these individuals for their hard work and dedication to Boise State University.

Olgie Castillo has been a management assistant in the Department of Kinesiology for 16 years, while Shawn Dunnagan has been a lecturer III in the School of Public and Population Health for 13 years. Tim Kempf, a clinical associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, has dedicated an impressive 19 years to Boise State, while Shelle Poole, the divisional dean and clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing, has served for 13 years. Sarah Toevs, a professor in the School of Public and Population Health and the director of the Center for the Study of Aging, has contributed an astounding 24 years of service to Boise State University.

These retirees have left indelible marks on the College of Health Sciences and the university as a whole. Join us as we celebrate their careers and wish them all the best on their future journeys.
