Cougars and Stars Clash in Doubleheader Extravaganza
Stephens College faced off against Columbia College in a doubleheader on Friday, following a recent loss to Williams Baptist University. In the first game, the Cougars took control early on, with Jazlin Gottman’s single in the second inning resulting in two RBIs and putting them ahead 2-0. The momentum shifted in the second game, with the Stars dominating the third inning and taking a 2-0 lead. Elise Kendrick’s hit drove in two runs, and the Stars continued to build on their lead with three more singles, bringing the score to 6-2 by the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the Cougars fell short of a sweep in the doubleheader as Stephens College emerged victorious with a final score of 6-4.
