Larian Studios confirms two new projects in lieu of “Baldur’s Gate 4”

The End of Baldur’s Gate Saga: Larian Studios Plays it Safe with Independent Projects

In the summer of 2020, Larian Studios released “Baldur’s Gate 3” to critical and commercial success. The game has since been recognized in numerous prestigious awards, solidifying its position as a triumph for the studio. Despite this, Larian Studios has announced that they will not be working on a sequel to the game. Instead, they are focusing their efforts on two new projects that are independent of the “Baldur’s Gate” saga.

The developers behind “Baldur’s Gate 3” are currently working on their next update, Patch 7, which aims to address bugs and improve evil endings. They are also looking to add cross-play and a photo mode in the future. However, they have stated that there will be no continuation of the story through a new narrative, expansion or sequel.

Larian Studios has confirmed that there will be no “Baldur’s Gate 4” and is excited about the development of their new projects. The game, which is inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, offers an open world for players to explore freely while adapting the lore of the popular role-playing game into a story where player decisions affect characters and outcomes.

Since its release in August of 2020, “Baldur’s Gate 3” has received recognition in several prestigious awards including the Golden Joysticks, Game Developers Choice, DICE, and The Game Awards among others. This game has been a hit for Larian Studios and has paved the way for their future endeavors.
