Nelly Korda Withdraws from LPGA Event Due to Exhaustion

Nelly Korda takes a break from competition to recharge after winning streak

Nelly Korda, who has been on a roll with five consecutive wins at the Chevron Championship, has decided to take a break from this week’s JM Eagle LA Championship. After four events in just five weeks, Korda is feeling exhausted and in need of rest. Despite her recent success, she has chosen to listen to her body and take some time off before continuing with the remainder of the season.

Korda’s next competition will be at the Cognizant Founders Cup in New Jersey, scheduled for May 9-12. This break comes after an incredible winning streak that saw her join the ranks of Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as the only LPGA players since 1978 to win five consecutive events on tour. Her latest victory occurred at Carlton Woods, where she won her second major title after playing 25 holes on Sunday.

Although Korda expressed excitement about competing in Los Angeles this week, she ultimately decided with her team to take more time off. When asked about the possibility of setting a new LPGA record with a sixth consecutive win, she acknowledged the achievement but emphasized the importance of enjoying her current success. Korda remains grateful for the opportunity to compete week after week and is hopeful to continue her winning streak in the future.
