Hyundai Motor Group Continues to Dominate World Car Awards with Electric Vehicles

In 2024, Hyundai Motor Group continued its dominance at the World Car Awards with several significant victories. The Kia EV9 was named the 2024 World Car of the Year and also received the 2024 World Electric Vehicle award at the New York International Auto Show. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was recognized as the 2024 World Performance Car, highlighting the Group’s leadership in electric vehicles and its advanced Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

The Kia EV9 stood out from other vehicles for its innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior, and competitive price point. Built on E-GMP architecture, it is Kia’s first model to feature fourth-generation battery technology, enhancing its performance capabilities. These accolades solidify Hyundai Motor Group’s position as a leader in the electric vehicle market and showcase the technological advancements of its EV-dedicated platform.

Hyundai Motor Group has been successful in winning several prestigious titles at the World Car Awards over the years. In 2023, Kia EV6 GT won as the World Performance Car while Telluride got awarded overall World Car of the Year title in 2020, Soul EV won in World Urban Car category in 2020. Previously, IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 claimed triple titles in 2021 and 2019 respectively in categories of World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year. These successes demonstrate that Hyundai Motor Group continues to be a dominant force in automotive industry with their innovative electric vehicles and advanced technology.
