Three entrepreneurs who impressed Galperin at the Llao Llao Forum

Transforming Challenges into Opportunities: Three Start-ups Unite with Science and Business in Bariloche

In the picturesque town of Bariloche, the Llao Llao Forum is taking place this year, bringing together influential businessmen and entrepreneurs to discuss global uncertainty. Despite dedicating significant resources to this topic, the event also features a special panel dedicated to start-ups. Among the three selected start-ups in this panel, all have a strong connection with the Argentine scientific system from public universities and Conicet, which is surprising given the perception of inefficiency and budget cuts in these areas by the Casa Rosada.

OncoPrecision, founded by Tarek Ali Zake in collaboration with scientists from the National University of Córdoba, uses artificial intelligence to assess cancer treatments with precision and effectiveness. By creating personalized treatments for patients, OncoPrecision showcases how innovation and technology can transform healthcare. Kilimo has introduced a system similar to green bonds to conserve water by supporting producers and city dwellers in sustainable irrigation practices. This start-up highlights how innovation can address some of our most pressing environmental challenges. Beeflow expands bee pollination management worldwide, enhancing agricultural productivity and addressing food demand with advanced pollination services. These three start-ups demonstrate how innovation and technology can revolutionize sectors such as health, environment, and agriculture.

By collaborating with Argentine scientists, these start-ups embody a symbiotic relationship between the public and private sectors. The GRIDX fund connects research scientists with business-oriented entrepreneurs who support these start-ups through funding and mentorship opportunities. Miguel Galuccio, president of Vista oil company, and Graciela Ciccio from Insud are key figures in this fund that supports innovative solutions that tackle some of our most urgent challenges.

Overall, these three start-ups highlight how science, technology, visionary leaders, and collaboration between different sectors can transform society’s most pressing challenges into opportunities for growth and prosperity.
