Tom Stoltman Secures 3rd Title by Victorious Win Against Mitchell Hooper

Scotland’s Stoltman Claims Third Consecutive World’s Strongest Man Title over Hooper and Singleton

For the third time in four years, Tom Stoltman has been crowned the World’s Strongest Man. The massive Scot emerged victorious over Canada’s Mitchell Hooper and the United States’ Evan Singleton to claim the title. Stoltman led the competition by three points entering Saturday and extended his advantage with a first-place finish in the Atlas Stones event, tying for second in the Terrain Deadlift, and coming in third place in Conan’s Wheel. He has now finished either first or second in five of the past six World’s Strongest Man competitions.

The overall standings showed Stoltman with 53 points, Hooper with 47.5 points, Singleton with 36 points, Mathew Ragg from Canada with 35.5 points, Tristain Hoath from Canada with 33.5 points, Wesley Derwinsky from Canada with 31 points, Austin Andrade from Mexico with 30.5 points, Pavlo Kordiyaka from Ukraine with 27 points, Luke Stoltman from Scotland with 19.5 points, and Aivars Šmaukstelis from Latvia with 12.5 points. Despite losing ground on Stoltman during the Conan’s Wheel event where he came in second place behind him (821 degrees), Hooper managed to gain ground on him during Terrain Deadlift (eight reps) and Atlas Stones (four stones in 49.43 seconds), but it was not enough to prevent him from conceding his title at the end of the competition.

Singleton just barely finished above Ragg for third place after failing to score more than five points in any of the three events on Sunday. His Canadian counterpart had a fantastic day and scored best on Terrain Deadlift while also performing solidly well on Conan’s Wheel and Atlas Stones events. Overall, Stoltman’s dominance in this year’s competition further solidifies his position as one of the strongest men in the world today.
