Oracle Corp. to Establish World Headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee: New Campus to Bring 8,500 Jobs and $1 Billion Investment

Oracle Corp. has announced that its upcoming Nashville campus will serve as the company’s world headquarters, according to CEO Larry Ellison. The city of Nashville, known for its strong health care presence with over 900 companies and 550,000 employees in the sector, was chosen for this new location.

In 2021, Tennessee approved $65 million in state incentives for Oracle, which will bring 8,500 jobs and more than $1 billion in investment to Nashville over the next ten years. The company will construct a massive campus with 1.2 million square feet of office space. This move comes after Oracle’s headquarters relocation from Redwood City, California, to Texas in 2020.

Ellison discussed Oracle’s expansion plans at the Oracle Health Summit in a conversation with former U.S. Senator Bill Frist. He emphasized the city’s appeal as a place to live and raise a family due to its vibrant culture and central location in the health care industry.

The Nashville Health Care Council highlighted major health care companies like HCA Healthcare and Change Healthcare that are already based in the city. Ellison emphasized the importance of being part of a community where people want to live and work, noting that Nashville checked all the boxes in Oracle employee surveys.

Oracle’s investment in the riverfront campus includes plans for a community clinic, a concert venue, a hotel, and a restaurant. The company paid $254 million for 60 acres in downtown Nashville and proposed $175 million for public infrastructure improvements. Ellison’s vision for the new campus reflects Oracle’s commitment to Nashville and its growing health care industry.

Nashville has been recognized as one of America’s fastest-growing cities with an average annual growth rate of over 3% since 2010 according to Forbes magazine.
