Iowa Senator Joni Ernst Honors Crawford County’s Thriving Home Decor Business: The Cottage on Broadway

Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, the Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, is honoring a different small business in each of the state’s 99 counties this Congress. The latest recipient of her weekly recognition is The Cottage of Crawford County, a thriving home decor business owned by mother and daughter duo Cindy and Taylor Borkowski.

The Borkowskis have taken their passion for home decor and turned it into a successful venture in Denison. They purchased the Your Treasure Chest home decor store in 2020 and rebranded it as The Cottage on Broadway. Their products are of high quality and include a range of items such as children, baby, seasonal, and devotional items. They also showcase their products on their Facebook page.

The Cottage has received several accolades for its excellence in the community. It was named the Best Boutique in Crawford County and won the Innovators Award from the local Chamber and Development Council. Co-founder Taylor Borkowski has also been recognized for her role as a community leader, organizing Denison’s Hot Summer Nights series.

Ranking Member Ernst congratulated the team at The Cottage on their success and wished them even more prosperity at their new location. This marks the fourth year anniversary for The Cottage, which continues to be a beloved destination for home decor enthusiasts in Denison and beyond. Stay tuned for more Iowa small businesses to be recognized by Ranking Member Ernst with her Small Business of the Week award.
