Austin Head is a man who takes his fitness workouts very seriously. He recently broke the Guinness World Record for the number of lunges done in an hour by completing an incredible 2,825 lunges along the Brooklyn waterfront in DUMBO. To prepare for this record-setting attempt, Head listened to motivational videos and uplifting music to get into the right mindset. His mantra of “I AM POWERFUL, I AM STRONG!!” helped him achieve this remarkable feat.
Despite teaching almost 30 hours a week of exercise classes as a trainer in Brooklyn, Head made sure to prioritize his recovery. He received weekly IVs, used red light therapy, cold plunges, and engaged in stretch/massage sessions to keep his body in peak condition. His friends, family, and students cheered him on during the attempt, even in less-than-ideal weather conditions.
In addition to setting the world record, Head also worked to raise money for community athletic programs and green parks for NYC kids to play in. He aimed to raise $3 per lunge but ended up raising an impressive $7,600 for the Life Time Foundation. Head’s dedication to fitness, determination, and philanthropic efforts have made him a true inspiration to others.
