Zack Martin included in Cowboys’ injury report
The Dallas Cowboys have announced that All-Pro right guard Zack Martin has been added to the injury report. Martin was limited in practice on Thursday due to a groin injury. Despite this, he still attended the team’s media availability session. Martin had recently returned to the field after missing a significant portion of training camp due to a holdout. In the team’s previous game against the New York Giants, Martin played in 51 out of 58 offensive snaps.
Meanwhile, Tyler Smith, the Cowboys’ starting left guard, continues to sit out of practice as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Smith missed all three practices last week and did not participate in the season opener. In his absence, veteran Chuma Edoga filled in at the left guard position. On a positive note, starting left tackle Tyron Smith remained a full participant in practice despite dealing with an ankle injury. Smith had initially appeared on the injury report last Thursday but managed to play in 49 snaps on Sunday.
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks has also been sidelined with an injury. Cooks is currently dealing with a sprained MCL, which has kept him out of practice once again on Thursday. Additionally, safety Donovan Wilson made his return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity. Wilson had injured his calf during the first week of training camp and has been undergoing rehabilitation since then.
