Top Players at Turning Stone Win Record $6.2 Million in World Series of Poker Payouts

WSOP at Turning Stone Resort Casino: Record-breaking Winnings and a Win for the Oneida Indian Nation

The 12-day World Series of Poker event in New York state concluded with record-breaking numbers of entries, money won, and visitors lured to the region. This year’s tournament at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona awarded $6.2 million in total winnings, double the minimum guarantee. With 16,000 entries from players representing 38 states and four Canadian provinces, the tournament surpassed the $5.4 million awarded last year and was a successful event for the Oneida Indian Nation, which operates the casino.

As part of the tournament, 18 “Gold Ring” winning players were sent to the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions main event in Las Vegas. Ethan Bennett of Brooklyn was crowned WSOP Main Event Champion and won $298,546 and his first-ever Gold Ring. Several players from Central and Western New York also won money and Gold Ring tickets to the Vegas tournament.

Turning Stone has hosted World Series of Poker events for three years now, becoming the only casino in Northeast America to do so. The prestigious gaming event attracts some of the best players from around the country and provides a unique opportunity for amateur poker enthusiasts to compete against them. With fewer than 20 casinos across the country hosting WSOP circuit events, Turning Stone is proud to be one of them.

The World Series of Poker is known as one of the largest, richest, and most prestigious gaming events globally, having awarded over $3.8 billion in prize money since its inception in 1970. As such, it’s an exciting opportunity for both seasoned professionals and amateurs alike to test their skills against some of the best poker players on earth while potentially winning huge sums of money along with it.
