U-M Health System Expands Reach with New Multi-Specialty Facility in Troy

The University of Michigan Health System has announced plans to purchase vacant land at the former Kmart headquarters in Troy for the construction of a multi-specialty facility. The 7.8-acre property, located at 3100 West Big Beaver Road, was previously owned by Forbes/Frankel Troy Ventures LLC and will be acquired for $4.42 million.

Marschall Runge, CEO of Michigan Medicine, sees this as an opportunity to establish a presence in southeast Michigan and expand clinical services and patient access in Oakland County. President of U-M Health, David Miller, believes that the facility will be a hub for advanced clinical programs like multi-disciplinary cancer care and bring innovative clinical programs to a new community of patients.

The move is part of U-M Health’s effort to establish a broad network of care across the state, allowing more Michigan residents to access their services close to home. The new facility in Troy is seen as a strategic location to expand their reach and bring cutting-edge medical care to a new community of patients.
