Tottenham Hotspur Dominates Chinese Opponents, Leaves India’s Captain Struggling

The second round of the Asian qualifiers for WC 2026 saw a number of exciting matches, with some surprising results. In Group C, South Korea emerged victorious against China with Son Heung-min leading the charge. He scored twice from a penalty and an assisted header to secure their 3-0 win. The Philippines and Indonesia drew 1-1 in Manila. Hong Kong came back twice to draw 2-2 with Turkmenistan in group E. Uzbekistan and Iran played 2-2 in Tashkent, with the Iranians leading 2-0 but the hosts ultimately drawing level thanks to goals from Rezeian and Taremi being saved by Urunov and Sergejev respectively.

Overall, these results have set up some exciting final round matches between the top teams from each group.
