Tim Mickelson steps down as Phil’s caddie; Phil announces.

Tim Mickelson Bids Farewell to Brother Phil’s Golf Caddie Job: A Special Bond Comes to an End with LIV Golf

Phil Mickelson’s longtime caddie, Tim Mickelson, is retiring from his role after nearly eight years on the job. The younger brother of Phil took over as his caddie in 2017, replacing long-time bagman Bones Mackay. Mickelson announced the news on Tuesday, expressing gratitude for the special moments they have shared together.

Tim initially became Phil’s caddie after leaving his job as the men’s college golf coach at Arizona State to become Jon Rahm’s agent. Under Tim’s guidance, Mickelson secured three PGA Tour wins, including the 2021 PGA Championship. However, since transitioning to LIV Golf two years ago, Mickelson has not seen as much success in the Saudi-backed league. Despite this, he treasures the experiences they have had together and looks forward to creating more memories in the future.

Although Tim’s replacement has not been revealed yet, the next LIV Golf event is scheduled for next week at Doral, just outside of Miami. Mickelson will continue to navigate the professional golf world with a new caddie by his side as he competes in upcoming tournaments.
