Nintendo announced that they will be hosting a new Indie World presentation on Wednesday, April 17, promising viewers around 20 minutes of announcements and updates on indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2024. The showcase will be streamed live at 10 a.m. EDT/7 a.m. PDT on Nintendo’s YouTube and Twitch channels. Fans are encouraged to tune in to see what exciting indie titles are on the horizon for the popular gaming platform.
The last Indie World showcase was held in November 2023 and featured games like Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, Backpack Hero, Blade Chimera, and Core Keeper. While Nintendo has not revealed which indie games will be showcased this time around, there is speculation that Hollow Knight: Silksong may finally make an appearance. The game was recently rated by Australia’s ratings board, indicating a potential release in the near future.
Despite the excitement surrounding the upcoming Indie World, it is unlikely that Nintendo will unveil details about their next console, rumored to be called the “Switch 2.” Reports suggest that the new console may be released in early 2025, with official announcements expected to come later in the year. Fans will have to wait patiently for updates on Nintendo’s next-gen console as the focus remains on showcasing indie games for the Nintendo Switch in the upcoming presentation.
