PARKERSBURG — As a young girl, Kamryn Sallee looked up to the Parkersburg South Higher College Southern Belle dance group and hoped she would a single day dance along side them.

“Dancing is anything I have normally loved, and I normally looked up to the Southern Belles when I was a small girl,” stated Sallee.

Sallee has been a portion of the Southern Belle group all 4 years of her higher college profession and has performed at residence football and basketball games, as effectively as parades and other events. Sallee feels blessed to be a portion of the group as it has helped her develop. This year, the Belles got second location in the National Dance Alliance Nationals competitors.

“The Belles group has been a blessing to me. It has eventually taught me who I am as I’ve grown via the years,” she stated. “I really like my group so a lot and it will be really hard possessing to leave them when I graduate.”

Sallee finds comfort via dance, art and photography. She took art as a filler class throughout her junior year and fell in really like.

“I adore my teacher,” she stated. “Mrs. (Stacey) White introduced me and was my most significant critic when I initially began, she knew that I could make wonderful art ahead of I did.”

Sallee likes to make art that is enjoyable and vibrant. She feels inspired by Impressionism and the art of Claude Monet.

“I think that if you do not have enjoyable developing the piece of art, then you will not really like the outcome no matter how great it may well be,” she stated.

Sallee won “Best Use of Color” in the PSHS Art Show with a single of her pieces and initially location in the Wood Whispers contest with a different.

Sallee is a three.eight GPA student at PSHS. She has taken many honors and college courses to enable her prepare for her college profession. This year she is taking photography and graphic style college courses on the internet at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

Sallee will continue her education at WVU-P right after graduation. She plans to key in company.

“I’ve normally been a leader and a person who requires charge, and the believed of operating my personal company is anything that has normally interested me,” she stated.
