Shohei Ohtani, the renowned Japanese baseball sensation, observed a spring training game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. At 29 years old, Ohtani has become a prominent figure in the baseball world after gaining fame from his high school days in Mizusawa, Japan. He started his professional career with Japan’s Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in 2013 before making the move to Major League Baseball in 2018 to join the Los Angeles Angels. Last year, Ohtani made headlines by signing a groundbreaking 10-year, $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels.

Known for his skills both as a pitcher and designated hitter, Ohtani was voted as the American League’s Most Valuable Player in 2021. In that year, he accomplished feats like hitting 45 home runs, stealing 25 bases, and recording five triples in a single season. These achievements set records and earned him widespread recognition. In 2023, Ohtani made history by becoming the first player to unanimously win the American League MVP award twice.

Beyond his success on the field, Ohtani has secured lucrative endorsement deals with companies like Boss, Fanatics, and Seiko Watch. Recently, Ohtani underwent elbow surgery and is expected to refrain from pitching until 2025 as he focuses on recovery and returning to peak performance on the baseball field.
