Seven MU Students Receive NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for STEM Disciplines

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program is a prestigious initiative that supports outstanding graduate students in STEM disciplines pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions. This program offers a five-year fellowship that includes three years of financial support, with an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost of education allowance of $12,000 to the institution.

Recently, seven students and alumni from the University of Missouri (MU) were selected for this program, while five others received honorable mention. Among the recipients are individuals pursuing a variety of disciplines such as mechanical engineering, wildlife and fisheries science, neuroscience, biochemistry, biological sciences, and chemical engineering. Honorable mentions were given to those studying psychology, pathobiology, plant, insect and microbial sciences, biological sciences, and human development and family science.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program aims to recognize and support outstanding graduate students in STEM fields by providing financial assistance and opportunities for furthering research and academic pursuits. This program is just one example of the many initiatives available to students in STEM fields who are looking to advance their careers while making significant contributions to their fields of study.
