A senior health fair was recently held at a living center in Lexington, organized by Bonita Taylor with the United Vendors of America. The event was designed to provide local seniors and residents of assisted living homes with valuable information about health care insurance and other products and services relevant to their age group.
Taylor was inspired to organize the fair after attending a similar event in Frankfort, Kentucky around 15-20 years ago. She felt that it would be beneficial to bring a similar event to Lexington and share it with the local community. One of the vendors present at the fair was Aetna Medicare Solutions, which had a booth where representatives could educate attendees about health insurance. Patrick Lee, a representative from Aetna Medicare Solutions, emphasized the importance of face-to-face interaction in educating seniors about intangible products like insurance.
The goal behind the fair was not only to provide information but also to offer attendees meaningful gifts for their loved ones. Vendors selling skin care products and jewelry were present at the event, making it an excellent opportunity for attendees to find thoughtful presents for their friends and family members.
Due to its success, Taylor plans to organize another senior health fair in the near future. She hopes that this event will continue to inspire and educate seniors about their healthcare options while providing them with valuable resources for improving their quality of life as they age.
