Scarlett Johansson Joins Upcoming Jurassic World Film, Following in Marvel Co-Star’s Footsteps

Scarlett Johansson is set to star in an upcoming Jurassic World movie, following in the footsteps of her Marvel co-star Chris Pratt who led the previous films. The new installment of the popular dinosaur franchise is being directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on The Creature and Godzilla. The screenplay for the movie is being written by David Koepp, who penned the original Jurassic Park film back in 1993.

Johansson has recently appeared in films like Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and the comedy North Star. She is set to star alongside Channing Tatum in an untitled romantic comedy set during the 1960s space race. Johansson will also lead the TV series adaptation of the legal thriller Just Cause, written by recent Oscar-winner Cord Jefferson.

The upcoming Jurassic World movie is expected to focus on a new set of characters with production scheduled to begin soon for a release in summer 2025 along with other big releases like Superman: Legacy and Mission: Impossible 8. With all the Jurassic movies combined, the franchise has grossed over $6 billion at the worldwide box office.
