Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake announced Monday that the 10th annual Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting will return on Friday, Dec. 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event kicks off with a fire truck parade, where area fire departments will come together in the spirit of unity and collaboration. The parade route will take fire trucks from Broadway to Main Street, with a special guest – Santa Claus – leading the way.

Following the parade, festivities continue with a tree lighting ceremony in Berkeley Green from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Santa will light the tree while everyone is invited to join in a festive holiday sing-along with Northern Lights Choir. Warm cookies and hot cocoa will be available next to the bonfire.

Kids will have an opportunity to visit Santa from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Saranac Lake Free Library, where they can share their wish lists with him and capture the moment with a photo.

At 7:30 p.m., a 40-foot tree donated by Moody Tree Farm will be illuminated in Riverside Park as part of this event made possible by several valued organizations including Women’s Civic Chamber, Saranac Lake Free Library, Adirondack Health, and Northern Lights Choir
