Samsung Announces Plans to Enhance Bixby with Generative AI: Reinventing the Assistant and Improving User Experience

Samsung has recently announced plans to enhance its digital assistant Bixby by incorporating new functions powered by generative AI. This will redefine the role of Bixby within the company’s ecosystem and provide users with a smarter and more intuitive experience.

During the unveiling of the Galaxy S24, Samsung showcased several new features powered by generative AI, including the Rodea search tool, Photo Assistant, real-time Translation, and Notes Assistant. These functions have not yet been integrated into Bixby, but Samsung is planning to further develop its assistant in order to take advantage of these new technologies.

According to Won-joon Choi, the executive vice president of the device business, Samsung is rethinking the role of Bixby in light of advancements in generative AI and large language models. The company envisions equipping Bixby with this technology to enhance its intelligence and create a more natural conversational interface that seamlessly integrates with Samsung products in their ecosystem.
