Revolutionizing Waste Treatment and Energy Sectors: WASE’s Electro-Methanogenic Reactor Technology

Thomas Fudge, the Founder and CEO of WASE, stated that the company’s investment in Electro-Methanogenic Reactor technology is a crucial step in their scale-up strategy and the delivery of this technology to customers. This cutting-edge technology is designed to maximize the recovery of biogas from organic matter in wastewater, ensuring that Anaerobic Digestion plants achieve the highest yields possible.

WASE claims that their units can increase biogas generation by 30%, which is up to ten times faster than traditional AD processes. Moreover, the technology boosts the methane content of biogas to over 80%, surpassing the typical 50-60% found in conventional AD processes.

Their plug-and-play system is designed to fit seamlessly into existing infrastructure and is significantly smaller (50-70%) than similar technologies currently available on the market. This modular solution allows for customization, making it easier for companies to deploy at their site and ultimately leading to increased energy production and reduced costs in the long run.

Carlota Ochoa Neven Du Mont, Principal at Extantia, praised WASE’s approach, stating that it not only increases biogas and biomethane yields but also reshapes how industrial businesses think about their resources. The technology makes AD processes more profitable and productive while driving a shift towards more sustainable and efficient resource management practices. She believes that WASE’s approach will set a new standard in waste treatment and energy sectors by optimizing waste breakdown and boosting methane production across the board.

In summary, WASE’s investment in Electro-Methanogenic Reactor technology is a game changer for waste treatment and energy sectors. Their plug-and-play system offers increased biogas generation, faster recovery of methane from organic matter in wastewater, customizable modular solution leading to reduced costs in long run with higher energy production.
