Missoula, Montana – Over 2 million Americans were diagnosed with cancer last year, with about half of those cases being preventable. This alarming statistic highlights the importance of taking proactive measures to maintain overall health and wellness. In light of this, we spoke with Dr. Tim McCue, Radiologist in Chief at Montana Imaging Center in Missoula about a groundbreaking new technology that could revolutionize the way people approach their health screenings.
Dr. McCue shared that Montana Imaging is now offering a full-body MRI scan that scans from the top of the head to the top of the knees in search of potential health issues or diseases. This cutting-edge technology is unique in that it can check for a range of conditions, including cancer, neurological disorders, liver diseases, and cardiovascular issues. Whether an individual is taking preventative measures or seeking peace of mind about a new symptom, Dr. McCue emphasizes that this scan is available to anyone interested.
“The interesting thing about the whole body scan is that it can be for everybody,” Dr. McCue explained. “There are older individuals who are concerned about cancer and want peace of mind, as there are cancers like pancreatic and ovarian cancer that do not have effective screening methods. Similarly, younger, active individuals are looking to be proactive and ensure their body is healthy.”
In addition to its full-body MRI capabilities, Montana Imaging will also begin offering cat scans this week. The center has consistently introduced new technology to the Missoula community since its establishment one year ago.
