Business owners are gearing up for a year of increased revenue, but reduced profits.

Pessimistic Outlook for Private Sector Profitability in Argentina: VISTAGE Study Highlights Business Leaders’ Concerns

A recent study by VISTAGE Argentina paints a pessimistic outlook for the private sector’s profitability. The latest edition of the VISTAGE Argentina Business Confidence Index, which has been conducted since 2006, found that 83% of survey participants believe that the economy has worsened compared to a year ago, while 13% estimate that it remained unchanged and 4% believe that it improved.

Looking ahead to the next 12 months, 50% of business leaders think that the situation will get worse; 37% believe it will be better; and 13% think there will be no changes. This indicates a lack of optimism among private sector leaders about the future of their organizations and the Argentine economy as a whole.

In terms of investment in fixed assets for next year, 47% believe that it will remain the same, while 31% indicate that it will decrease and 22% state that it will increase. With high inflation involved, only 44% consider that their company’s turnover will grow in the next 12 months, while
