In recent news, Governor Dan McKee announced the appointment of a new acting director at the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). She previously spent 15 years practicing medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and has overseen the training of medical residents and fellows at Lifespan.
Fischer is also board-certified in infectious diseases and has held positions with the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. Her experience in infectious disease fellowship program management will be particularly valuable in leading RIDOH during these challenging times.
