New Initiative Takes Shape to Boost 900 South Businesses through Community Support

In the heart of Salt Lake City, two community groups have joined forces to launch a business awareness campaign named “9 Line Up”. This initiative aims to support local businesses that have been impacted by the construction on 900 South. The campaign is inspired by the 9-line Trail that is being built along 900 South and encourages people to shop locally.

The Central 9th Community Council and the East Liberty Park Community Organization teamed up to create 9 Line Up after holding a meeting with several businesses on 900 South. They realized that a business awareness campaign was necessary to help these businesses thrive during this challenging time.

Some of the businesses participating in the campaign are offering special promotions and hosting events to attract customers. For instance, the Scion Cider Bar near 200 West is hosting a pop-up arts market from 12 to 5 p.m. this weekend. Rio Connelly, the general manager of the bar, emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses and keeping community dollars within the community.

Both community groups believe that supporting local businesses will benefit everyone in the community. They hope to organize more events in the future and have created an Instagram account for people to follow the 9 Line Up campaign. By shopping locally, residents can help keep their neighborhood vibrant and diverse while also contributing to a stronger economy.
