New CEO Appointed at Spar Austria: Reisch Takes the Helm

The board of directors of Spar AG has appointed Hans K. Reisch as the new CEO with immediate effect. Reisch (61) is a grandson of Spar founder Hans F. Reisch and has spent his entire professional life within the company, becoming deputy chairman in 2021. He will continue to work alongside the three existing board members, Mag. Markus Kaser, Paul Klotz, and Marcus Wild, who have also been on the board since 2021.

As part of the reorganization, some departments were redistributed in March 2023 but remain unchanged. This step was taken after former CEO Mag. Fritz Poppmeier became necessary due to illness. Dr. Gerhard Drexel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Fritz Poppmeier for his decades of commitment and dedication to the company and wished him a speedy recovery.
