NBA Unveils Finalists for Teammate of the Year and Sportsmanship Award

As the NBA season winds down, attention is shifting to awards season. The league recently revealed the finalists for the Teammate of the Year and Sportsmanship Awards. These honors are voted on by current players, with teams submitting nominees and a panel whittling down the list to the finalists.

The Teammate of the Year candidates this season include a diverse group of players like Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson, Al Horford, T.J. McConnell, and others. They are recognized for their unselfish play, leadership both on and off the court, as well as their dedication to being mentors and role models to other NBA players.

In addition, the Sportsmanship Award finalists were also announced. Players such as Tyrese Maxey, Jarrett Allen, Kevin Love, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Harrison Barnes and Tre Jones made it onto this list. This award recognizes the player who embodies sportsmanship on the court above all others.

Interestingly enough, Harrison Barnes of the Sacramento Kings was nominated for both awards this year alone. Reigning champions Jrue Holiday and Mike Conley were not included in these nominations but still added an impressive level of competition for each award.

Ultimately, current NBA players will have a say in determining who wins these prestigious accolades when they vote at year’s end.
