Mizzou baseball defeated Lindenwood in a dominating 13-1 win on Tuesday, completing the season sweep. Javyn Pimental pitched a scoreless first inning before Kaden Jacobi allowed just one run in the next three innings. The Tigers’ offense started quickly, with Justin Colon driving in Danny Corona to take Mizzou’s lead.
In the fourth inning, with the game tied at one, Mizzou’s offense exploded, scoring nine runs and taking a 10-1 lead. Jackson Beaman hit a solo homer followed by Jack Holubowski’s first career hit. Contributions from Brock Daniels, Jackson Lovich, Colon, and Corona among others helped Mizzou secure its victory.
Matt Garcia’s three-run homer made it 10-1 Mizzou. The pitchers Victor Quinn, Ben Pederson, and Xavier Lovett closed out the game without allowing any more runs. The Tigers added three more runs in the sixth inning, resulting in a 13-1 victory in seven innings. This was Mizzou’s 20th win of the season and Head Coach Kerrick Jackson leading the team to a 13-10 record at home.
The next challenge for Mizzou is a weekend series at home against South Carolina starting on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Tigers will look to continue their winning streak and improve their record as they face a tough opponent in South Carolina.
