Hungarian National Championships Mark Milak’s Return to Competition

The 2024 Hungarian National Championships are set to take place from April 9th to April 12th, and will feature some of the country’s top swimmers. One athlete to watch is Kristof Milak, a world record holder and Olympic Qualification Times holder. Milak, who is just 24 years old, has entered six events at the competition, including the 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle as well as the 50m, 100m, and 200m butterfly. Despite being out of the pool since last year’s Hungarian Championships, Milak has resumed training in mid-January and aims to be in his best form for the Paris Olympic Games.

Another athlete to keep an eye on is Zalan Sarkany, who holds PAC-12 conference records for men’s freestyle events. Sarkany set a conference record with a time of 14:23.01 in the men’s 1650y freestyle at the championships. He later won the NCAA Championships title in the same event with a time of 14:30.57. Nikolett Padar is also set to compete in several freestyle and breaststroke events.

Key entries for men include David Betlehem in multiple freestyle events, Balazs Hollo in IM and butterfly events, and Kristof Milak in multiple freestyle and butterfly events. For women, key entries include Katalin Burian in backstroke events, Boglarka Kapas in IM fly and freestyle events
