Eiffel Tower Sets Record After Bizarre Matchstick Dispute

Matchstick Marvel: Richard Plaud’s Eiffel Tower Made of Matches Officially Recognized by Guinness

The Eiffel Tower made of matches is officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records. Richard Plaud, a Frenchman who spent eight years building his own version, has been granted the title after making two mistakes in his attempt. He used 706,900 matches for his project and cut off their heads instead of scraping them off as required by the regulations. Now, Richard describes this experience as an emotional rollercoaster ride, but he still holds the record for the tallest Eiffel Tower built with matchsticks at 7.19 meters.
