The Hulk Reprising Role in Captain America: Brave New World

Mark Ruffalo Confirms Return to Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Brave New World, With Anthony Mackie and Uncertainty About Harrison Ford’s Portrayal of Thaddeus Ross

Mark Ruffalo, who has played the iconic character of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years, confirmed that he will be returning to the franchise in the upcoming film, Captain America: Brave New World. During a discussion with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Ruffalo didn’t reveal much about his role in the movie, simply stating that “it’s going to be great.”

Anthony Mackie is set to reprise his role as Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, in the new film. However, there is some uncertainty surrounding Harrison Ford’s portrayal of Thaddeus Ross. Following William Hurt’s passing in 2022, Ford was announced as Ross’ successor. The Red Hulk has had a significant history with Bruce Banner and has become a fan favorite character. This raises speculation about whether or not he will make an appearance in Captain America: Brave New World.

Ruffalo took a break from the MCU after Avengers: Endgame and has been busy working on other projects such as She-Hulk and What If…? He also appeared in non-superhero films. Captain America: Brave New World is set for release on February 14th, 2025. Fans eagerly await more news from Marvel including the release of their first trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine.
