Paolo Banchero drops 32 points as Magic triumph over Pelicans 117-108

Magic’s Banchero Scores 32 Points, Pelicans’ Williamson Injured in 104-108 Loss to Magic

Paolo Banchero led the Orlando Magic to a 117-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans with an impressive 32-point performance. Franz Wagner also contributed significantly with 24 points, while Moritz Wagner added 18 points. This win marks the Magic’s third straight victory, putting them half a game ahead of the New York Knicks for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

On the other hand, CJ McCollum recorded an impressive 36 points and 10 rebounds for the Pelicans, who have lost three of their last four games and dropped from fourth to sixth place in the Western Conference. During the game, Zion Williamson had a scary moment when Gary Harris unintentionally tripped him, causing Williamson to briefly leave the game. Despite returning to play, Williamson spent most of the fourth quarter on the bench and played only 29 minutes in total. Wendell Carter Jr. contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds for Orlando, who shot a remarkable 51.3% from the field.

Despite an attempt at a comeback by New Orleans, Banchero’s dunk sealed victory for Orlando with just three seconds left on the clock. Three Pelicans players were ejected from the game after making comments to officials during play. Banchero has now scored over 30 points in a game ten times this season and continues to impress as he leads Orlando towards playoff contention.

The Magic will face off against Charlotte Hornets next while Pelicans will host San Antonio Spurs to conclude their six-game homestand.
