The Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center will be hosting the September Not So New Faculty Luncheon, with two different time options: Thursday, September 21 from 12:30-1:45 p.m., or Friday, September 22 from 12:00-1:15 p.m. This luncheon is specifically for faculty members who have been teaching at the University of Arkansas for more than two years.
During this event, there will be a student panel discussion moderated by Chris Bryson, the executive director of the Office of Academic Initiatives and Integrity, and Kathryn Zawisza, the director of academic technology. The panel will focus on how students are utilizing technology in their courses, the academic integrity concerns that can arise from technology usage, and ways that faculty members can better address these concerns. This collaboration is between the Office of Academic Initiatives and TIPS (Teaching Innovation and Pedagogical Support).
Faculty members who attend the event, either in person or through Zoom, will have the opportunity to earn the Tech Integrity Badge from the Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center. To earn this badge, faculty members must also write a short reflection on how they can incorporate the ideas presented during the event. In addition, those who earn the badge will be featured in an article in the Arkansas News. More information on this opportunity will be provided during the event.
For Thursday, September 21, in-person seating is no longer available. If you would like to attend this session, you can RSVP for Zoom. On Friday, September 22, there are only a few remaining in-person seats available. If you would like to attend in person, please email email@example.com on a first-come, first-served basis. Alternatively, you can also RSVP for Zoom for the Friday session.
