Landing JC Latham: How the Titans Made a Bold Move in the First Round of the Draft

The Titans made a wise first-round choice by selecting JC Latham, an offensive tackle with immense talent and potential to start right away. Latham’s ability to play the left tackle position in the NFL will be closely watched, as his skills promise to be a valuable asset alongside Will Levis, Calvin Ridley, and DeAndre Hopkins. Although the Titans may have reached with some of their later picks, landing Cedric Gray in the fourth round was a steal for the team. Despite lacking excitement overall, T’Vondre Sweat’s potential as a pass rusher could make him a valuable addition to the team in the long run if he can make adjustments and become a three-down player.

The favorite pick of the draft was JC Latham, who was originally considered for the fifth overall pick. His talents in both run game and protection will complement those of his fellow players on the roster. This was an excellent decision that addressed important needs for the Titans without overcomplicating things.

On the opposite end of things, T’Vondre Sweat from Texas was not well-received as he lacks pass rush abilities at the NFL level. While he is an impressive run stuffer, this pick raises questions about his value at an early second-round stage. However, if Sweat can make some adjustments and become a more versatile player capable of playing multiple positions on defense, this selection may pay off in time.

The Titans also selected several other players in later rounds of the draft, including Cedric Gray, Jarvis Brownlee Jr., Jha’Quan Jackson, James Williams, and Jaylen Harrell. Each of them has great potential but must prove themselves before making significant contributions to the team next season.

Overall, while this draft class may not have been filled with excitement or top-tier talent like previous years’ classes have had for some teams like Los Angeles Rams or Buffalo Bills it still has some promising prospects who can make significant contributions to their respective teams provided they develop well during training camp and showcase their skills on field.
