Kevin Harlan, the radio play-by-play announcer for Westwood One Sports Radio’s Super Bowl broadcast on Sunday, made an epic call of his own during the 2024 Super Bowl. After the San Francisco 49ers scored first to begin overtime, Harlan was on the call for the Chiefs’ ensuing drive, including their winning touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman.
“It’s caught! Hardman caught the ball! The Chiefs have won!” Harlan exclaimed as he provided live commentary on the historic moment. The Kansas City Chiefs had just won their second straight Super Bowl thanks to this dramatic touchdown catch in overtime.
While Jim Nantz and Tony Romo were calling the television broadcast for CBS, it was Harlan who truly stole the show with his electrifying radio call. As a former voice of the Chiefs and a veteran broadcaster, Harlan knew how to bring energy and excitement to one of sports’ biggest moments.
