Justin Jefferson Shares His Priorities: Health Over Fantasy Football

Despite high hopes among his fantasy managers, Justin Jefferson’s return to the fantasy football lineup may not be as soon as Week 14. The Minnesota Vikings’ Monday night game against the Chicago Bears complicates matters for Jefferson’s fantasy managers, as the star wide receiver suffered a right hamstring injury in Week 5 and has been sidelined on injured reserve ever since.

On Tuesday, Jefferson took to social media to make it clear that his health is his top priority, and that fantasy football concerns would not influence his return. The Vikings have been cautious in their approach to Jefferson’s recovery, opening his 21-day practice window on November 8, and have indicated that they may keep him sidelined for the Monday night game against the Chicago Bears in order to take advantage of the bye week that follows.

Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell emphasized the importance of Jefferson’s long-term health and career, stating that they need to be smart about his return, especially with five crucial games coming up. He reiterated that Jefferson’s well-being takes precedence over the team’s short-term needs, despite the significance of the games ahead. The Vikings are focused on solidifying their position in the playoffs and competing in the division, but not at the expense of Jefferson’s long-term career.
