Jesse Ventura, Former Governor, Ventures into Cannabis Industry with New Line of Edibles

Jesse Ventura Joins Cannabis Industry: Launches Branded Edibles with Retro Bakery

Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura is entering the cannabis industry by partnering with a hemp company in Columbia Heights to produce his branded lines of edibles. In an announcement, Ventura expressed his excitement about sharing products from a plant that has had a positive impact on his life. He also noted the historical significance of being the first U.S. Governor to officially put his name on a cannabis brand.

The partnership between Ventura and Retro Bakery, a cannabis edibles company, will be known as “Jesse Ventura Farms.” Ventura mentioned that he carefully considered various cannabis companies before selecting Retro Bakery, a Black-owned small business located near where he raised his family. His son, Tyrel Ventura, explained that Retro Bakery will use Ventura’s name and intellectual property to create different product lines in the future.

Ventura has been a vocal advocate for marijuana legalization for many years and testified in support of it at the State Capitol. Last year, when Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed a bill legalizing recreational marijuana, Ventura and his wife stood with him in support of the legislation. A portion of the proceeds from certain products under the Jesse Ventura Farms brand will be donated to charities focused on environmental cleanup, veterans, and individuals impacted by the war on drugs.
